LF store closes in Westport

LF, a clothing store in downtown Westport, closed to become an online store on Sept. 2. All LF stores around the US are being closed and the brand is making a shift into website purchase only.
After being in Westport for 15 years, the closing of the store came as a shock to many in the Westport Community. Though some people liked the store, the brand is known for being messy and having high prices that didn’t match the quality of the clothes being sold.
Each season, the brand underwent a major sale with prices ranging from 70% to 80% off an entire collection. These events made the store chaotic and messy, according to customers.
“It was very messy making it very stressful to find clothes your size the prices were super expensive,” Layla Bloomindgale ’22 said. “The employees kind of pushed you to buy stuff when you don’t really want to buy anything.”
Basha Perkins ’23, a frequent customer at LF, has done some modeling for the brand and explains her mixed feelings towards the closing of the store.
“I feel like better stores could be there, but I personally never felt any pressure in the store,” Perkins said. “I always thought it was a fun thing when employees came up to me and everyone was nice.”
