The Westport Weston Health District announced that they will continue to conduct vaccine clinics over the next few months specifically for influenza (flu).
With the flu season approaching, Connecticut is working to promote flu vaccines for everyone across the state.
Violet Feldman ’20 has received the flu shot every fall for the past eight years.
“It can never hurt to be safe,” Feldman said.
The three different clinics will all be held at the Health District offices at 180 Bayberry Lane. The first two will be head on Oct. 16 and Nov. 13, both from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The last one will be held on Dec. 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This year marks over 30 years of the Westport Weston Health District’s tradition of conducting clinics. They are offering appointments through their website and welcoming walk-ins.
The Red Cross encourages people to get a flu shot as soon as possible for the best chance of protection.
It costs $45.00 for the seasonal flu vaccine, $80.00 for the high dose flu vaccine and $75.00 for the FluBlok-egg free flu vaccine. All costs must be paid through cash or can be covered by a number of insurances listed on their website.
Appointments can also be scheduled by calling the health district.
