Señor Salsa, a Fairfield Connecticut establishment, has finally made its way to Westport. Conveniently located at 221 Post Road West, Señor Salsa is seemingly a hybrid between Border Grill, a long time Westport favorite, and Qdoba, which has recently staked its claim in Westport’s Mexican food scene.

Señor Salsa’s menu covers all the basics. The flavorful burritos and kid-friendly taco baskets provide endless choices for even the most picky of eaters.

The restaurant is very festively decorated. An open floor plan with plenty of seating leads into a spacious take-out counter. The hand written menu, which was difficult to read at times, gave the feel of an authentic Mexican experience.

Señor Salsa has managed to seamlessly combine an elegant eat-in experience with quick and easy take-out, all under one roof.

The employees were all very friendly and committed to their work, but it was clear that they were new.

A few minor mistakes were made to my order and an inexperienced chef took a while to prepare the food. Surely these minor kinks will be worked out, and judging by the quality of service at the Fairfield location, the employees will be in tip top shape in no time.

Many Staples students are excited by the prospect of a new Mexican restaurant in Westport.

“I can`t wait to eat there,” Ben Popkin ’16 said, after noting a fundamental lack of good food near his house.

Señor Salsa is primed to become a go to restaurant and has helped Westport become a hot spot for Mexican food.
