In terms of system-wide emails regarding emergencies and rumors at Staples, the 2022-2023 school year has been one of the busiest. From multi-hour emergency lockdowns to a car crashing into the building, the school email list has been the primary way for parents to learn about incidents at Staples.

Paige Miller ’24

Paige Miller ’24, Paper News Editor

Paige Miller ’24 joined Inkings to pursue her passion for writing and involve herself in the staples community. She loves to write opinions and express herself in creative ways.

“I’ve always liked and been really passionate about writing, and I felt like Inklings was a really great outlet to be creative and learn more about the Staples community,” Miller said.

Along with her passion for writing, Miller has a soft spot for animals and owns a Golden retriever named Piper.

“I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and my dog,” Miller said, “I love animals, and going to concerts.”

Long Lots Elementary School was originally built in the 1950s as a middle school. Over time the appliances and systems in the school have deteriorated, leading the Board of Education to recommend a rebuild of the school.
