Finally the Jersey Shore returns home from Florence to seaside heights. While it was entertaining to watch Snooki get lost in the narrow streets of Italy, the situation beat himself up, and Deena just have a blast in a glass, I am relieved to see the shore house everyone fell in love with the first three seasons. And, the cast agrees. As they boarded the plane back to America, the Jersey Shore crew was more excited to return to karma and the shore store, than upset to leave Florence. Upon arriving at the airport they kissed the ground, planning out everything they would be doing during their summer at the shore.
It was nice to see them all acting like a real family for once, no drama, but we all know this isn’t going to last. Danny threw the crew a welcome home party at “hooks” bringing them to tears as they reunited with their loved ones. It was surprising to see Gionni and Snooki hug and kiss as if what happened in Italy had never actually occurred. To remind those of you who forgot what happened in Italy: when Gionni visited the house in Florence, he claimed that Snooki was “embarrassing” him when she was dancing at the club, which was enough reason for him to leave Italy and return to Jersey. After Gionni fled Italy, Snooki then got with Vinny and told Gionni what had happened over the phone. And, even after all of this, Gionni is back in Snooki’s arms. However, despite their façade as a perfect couple right now, Snooki is hiding something that went down between her and Mike two months prior. Now that Unit is staying with Mike at the shore house, who was also witness to what happened between Mike and Snooki, the truth is bound to come out. Snooki has yet to admit to cheating on Gionni with Mike, but was quick to apologize to Unit after yelling at him during the reunion at Hooks.
Sammi and Ronnie for the first time in four seasons are not the center of the drama and it looks as if they want to keep it this way. I think that Sam and Ron are destined to have at least one blow out at the shore this season but, will not be the focus of the drama.
Another surprise during the season premiere was Vinny’s homesickness. Vinny is definitely not acting like the Vinny we all know and love. He keeps saying that he can’t handle it anymore, misses his family, and is heading in the direction of leaving the shore house for good. Even at the club, Vinny was not having a good time and left with Pauly D to go back to the house. I would be heartbroken if Vinny left, because without him we can all agree that the shore house would not be the same.
This season is definitely going to be interesting when it comes to romance between Gionni and Snooki’s unsteady relationship, Mike’s feelings for Snooki, Deena’s crush on Pauly, and Sam and Ron’s finally stable relationship. But, at the end of the week the Italian family pulls together for Sunday dinner whether or not they are all at peace with one another.
