Today’s first round baseball state playoff game between the Staples Wreckers and Hamden Green Dragons was postponed due to rain. The game will be picked up tomorrow afternoon in the fourth inning with the Green Dragons leading the number two seeded team in the state 5-1.

Staples ace David Speer ’11 went four innings and surrendered five runs. The southpaw has given up 12 runs in his last two starts after he was hit for seven runs against the Westhill Vikings in the e FCIAC quarterfinals last week.

The Wreckers got their lone run of the game off of a solo home run from Jimmy Sikorski ’10 in the 3rd inning and left fielder Brendan Bernstein ’11 robbed a home run in the 4th inning.
