In order for individuals to maintain social distancing guidelines, everyone is advised to stay in their vehicles during the test, and avoid contact to minimize the possibility of spreading the virus. The email does not say when this may happen, but it does say that it would be “for a time later in the summer” and that more information would be available in the coming weeks.       TAG Applications | 3:06 p.m.| Late May 26, all Sta TAG Applications | 3:06 p.m.| Late May 26, all Staples students received an email saying that the Teen Awareness Group, better know as “TAG” was sending out and accepting their applications. The link to the aforementioned application, along with a link that needs to be sent to an adult recommender, are written in the email.       Online Summer Chemistry | 3:16 p.m. | Around 3:00 Online Summer Chemistry | 3:16 p.m. | Around 3:00 p.m. on May 27 all Staples freshmen and sophomores received an email that talked about the long-standing summer school chemistry program, similar to an accelerated version of Chemistry A, which allows students to jump to AP Chemistry or physics. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, it cannot be done in person, so the teachers of the course have set up an online class during the summer.       Library pick-up service | 2:41 p.m. | In an email Library pick-up service | 2:41 p.m. | In an email sent to all students, the Westport Library announced they would be beginning a curbside pick-up service, joining with multiple other Fairfield county libraries. The process, in the beginning, will be curb side pick up of books, DVDs, and other items to library-goers and will also include a process to safely quarantine all returned materials to the library. While the online resources of the library have been available all throughout this pandemic, the library itself has been closed since early March and more information will come on when this service will start.       Pass/Fail Form | 11:22 a.m. | Due to COVID-19 and Pass/Fail Form | 11:22 a.m. | Due to COVID-19 and the circumstances Staples has decided to let students have the option to go pass or fail. On May 27 at 3 p.m. students must submit the google form provided by their teacher for each class that they wish to go pass/fail for. In order to pass a class a student must receive above a 59.5%.
