Sweeten up Staples: Creating Staples families’ favorite holiday treats

Phoebe Rosenberg ’27
This sweet treat is a homemade pie, with a recipe passed down in Blake Raho’s ’27 family for generations, now recreated by Phoebe Rosenberg. Its two most special features are the filling of only apples and a nod to history: Raho’s grandmother used Crisco when it first came out.

Camille Blundell ’27, Creative Director
Creative Director Camille Blundell ’27 brings her imagination to Inklings. Over the summer, she attended a film camp, completed a podcasting and audio production New York Times program and began to produce “Paper Planes,” her 16th film that is a cross between a video game and film. “I found a passion for being behind the camera and making either mine or other people’s visions come true,” Blundell said. As Creative Director, Blundell helps develop the cover of each Inklings paper and ensures all graphics serve a purpose and are visually appealing.  “I get to make what the editors are thinking come true,” she said.

Web Arts Editor Phoebe Rosenberg ’27 balances her busy schedule packed with tennis, tutoring and journalism. “I’ve been playing tennis since middle school, and I volunteer as a tutor for kids out of state who can’t afford it,” Rosenberg said. At Staples, she’s part of DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America). Her interest in journalism started with her dad, who worked in publishing, and grew after her eighth grade English teacher encouraged her to join Inklings. Now, she’s passionate about writing for the community she works with. “I love how close-knit Inklings is,” Rosenberg said. “It’s something I want to keep doing.”
