Soaring temperatures, primarily across the Northeast, triggered concerns about the quality of learning that students were gaining whilst under such strenuous conditions. Soaring heat temperatures can also have more tragic effects. According to a study at Boston University, there are likely over 10,000 deaths in the US from extreme heat each year.

Storey Ahl ’25

Storey Ahl ’25, Staff Writer

While just a sophomore at Staples, Staff Writer Storey Ahl ’25 is certainly familiar with Inklings, being the third member of her family to join it.

“I heard about it first from [my sister Eloise] and I’ve always really enjoyed writing,” Ahl said. “[Writing] is a really great way to express your creativity, so I thought Inklings would be perfect for that.”

Meanwhile, outside of putting pen to paper, Ahl enjoys keeping busy, both in and outside of school.

“I went to Italy [over the summer],” she said, “I play field hockey and lacrosse and I love to cook.”
