ABC released the first episode of the 13th season of “Grey’s Anatomy” on September 22nd, with 23 more episodes brewing.

The show is one of the longest running series on television. With a plane crash, a mass shooting, and a blackout already taking place in the first 12 seasons, it might be hard to imagine that there is more, but indeed, there is plenty.

Season 12 focused mainly on Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), however Season 13 will be more attentive towards the best known characters from the original cast. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), and Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), will be the larger focus this time around.

Gillian Birk ‘17 has seen every episode, starting from the pilot. “I like Season 13 because the focus has shifted from being all about Meredith Grey, to more about Alex Karev. It’s interesting to see a new perspective.”

Like Birk, Christina Dear ‘17 says that so far, season 13 is “like no other. I look forward to every new episode because I love the new perspective.”

The very first episode jumps right into Amelia questioning her relationship with Owen. Meredith knows some about what is going on between them, but agrees right from the beginning that she won’t tell anyone. Watch a little bit about what the first episode has to offer, here:
