UConn Men’s basketball improves from last year, faces new obstacles

The+UConn+Men%E2%80%99s+basketball+team+is+predicted+to+be+a+4+or+5+seed+in+the+March+Madness+tournament%2C+so+they+would+be+forced+to+play+the+1+seed+in+the+Sweet+Sixteen+round.+This+results+in+a+low+win+percentage+of+18%25+and+32%25+respectively.

The UConn Men’s basketball team is predicted to be a 4 or 5 seed in the March Madness tournament, so they would be forced to play the 1 seed in the Sweet Sixteen round. This results in a low win percentage of 18% and 32% respectively.

Since 2011, the University of Connecticut Football team has not had a single winning season. As Connecticut’s national representative for sports, UConn must improve their record and financial practices for the sake of state pride.

Staples’ squash and gymnastics are both overlooked by the Staples community as they do not compete at school; however, both teams put in a lot of work and effort and would benefit from more representation.

Dan Woog ‘71 is retiring from his position as the Staples boys’ soccer coach after 19 years. He has coached the team to four FCIAC championships.
