Barstool sports has revolutionized the sports media industry and while they are just beginning, they will be around for a long time.

Whether it’s pizza reviews by @stoolpresidente or a new episode of “Pardon My Take”, Barstool Sports has created a new way to deliver media to its viewers. Barstool Sports is one of the most popular media outlets. Barstool has millions of followers on Instagram and Twitter along with hundreds of thousands of website viewers each day.  With its abstract ways of delivering media through podcasts, periscopes, Instagram live videos and Snapchat stories, Barstool Sports continues to entertain.

I first became familiar with Barstool Sports and its sponsored podcast “Pardon My Take” about two years ago and was immediately captivated by all that it had to offer. The best way to describe Barstool Sports is as something that all the real sports news fans want to hear. From Super Bowl media days to the NBA Finals, Barstool has gotten hilarious and informative interviews with some of the biggest names in sports. Columnists and podcasters ask questions that genuinely interest their following and they provide a comedic twist that attracts new viewers every day.

Barstool sports founder, Dave Portnoy—also known as “presidente”—has created a new sports culture for fans, which makes it superior to its predecessors like ESPN and Fox Sports 1 and a more authentic outlet for sports news. You can always count on Barstool to provide you with funny and relevant information from all aspects of the sports world.

While companies like ESPN and FS1 have attempted to monopolize the sports media world, Barstool has built a fan base dedicated to all their content that is unlike any media fan base. Also, in a world where people want their news immediately and on their phone, Barstool has done a phenomenal job delivering news on Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.

Another thing I love about Barstool is that their bloggers and podcasters are passionate fans rather than trained commentators. They haven’t been in school for numerous years studying journalism, like other sports media elite. Although the professional experience is nice to have, I prefer listening to sports fan talk about sports and that’s what Barstool delivers.

Overall, Barstool is still up and coming. With their strong fan base and their new media delivery, they will be around for a while, competing against the other media giants.
