For many, Yom Kippur prayers were drowned out by the sound of grumbling stomachs as hungry students kept a close eye on the countdown until sundown. For these Jewish families that did participate in the fasting process, that first bite of bagel on Saturday night was one of the most satisfying and rewarding moments of the year. As for the rest, while a hand full of kids gave in about half way through, a good number didn’t even attempt conquering “The Hunger Games.”
