The Holiday Season Manifests in Downtown Westport December 5, 2017 By: Roxy Augeri ’20 and Audrey Bernstein To mark the beginning of December, various shops in downtown Westport have begun to celebrate the holiday season. With decorative lights and trees, windows, facades and interiors glow with festivity.Anthropologie celebrates its first holiday season in Westport this year. The store features various Christmas trees, ornamented with silver and gold. Acorns and pine fill the interior with their scent, and holiday themed music welcomes customers. According to an employee, the decorations were put up in mid-November.Snowflakes on every light post line the streets, which remain illuminated throughout the night.West Elm, known for its interior design and aesthetic touches, incorporates lights and a Christmas tree into its setups.Shoe Inn and Shoes ‘n’ More utilize window displays to express holiday cheer. Miniature Christmas trees, stars and ribbon accompany the store’s shoes and clothing.Madewell (top), J. Crew (bottom left) and Vineyard Vines (bottom right) dress their mannequins in red and blue, in addition to replicating Christmas trees and gift ribbons.Intermix does not include a Christmas tree or lights; however, the displayed clothing is designed for the holiday season.
