Rebecca Marsick, Advisor

By the time Rebecca Marsick graduated from Staples in 1993 she had never read a copy of Inklings.

“I just don’t remember Inklings,” she said. “I know it was here, but I can’t think of anyone who did it. I can’t remember ever reading an issue.”

Now an advisor, Marsick is ready to learn, and read, all about it.

Marsick, who taught English at Bedford Middle School since 2000, wanted a change of scene, which prompted her move to Staples.

“Every year I would come with the other 8th grade teachers, visit the Inklings room and say ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if we could do this some day,’” she said. “So when the option was presented last year I took it.”

Marsick said she is reinvigorated and ready to work with both the paper and web staffs.

“Everyone seems so professional, dedicated and excited,” she said. “It’s so empowering to see the kids run the entire thing.”
