A developing downtown area now becomes host to yet another appealing addition, one that can accommodate a palate of all cravings and entice an audience of all ages. In the location of the old Westport firehouse, the newly opened NEAT restaurant gives coffee fanatics, sandwich seekers, and cocktail connoisseurs a common ground from 7 a.m. to midnight.
“NEAT has a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere with a cool living room feel that can’t be beat,” Ryan Nicholas ‘16 said.
Encompassing a contemporary-yet-living-room style aura is one of NEAT’s primary goals. Its features vary from circular booths to a casual bar to a Starbucks-esque counter. Coffee and craft cocktails are the highlighted attractions, but yogurts, salads, sandwiches, and even lobster rolls are served to complement.
After the recent coffee ban for students, Julia Kaplowitz ’16 says Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks have been the go to locations for coffee before school. “NEAT could definitely be a popular location before school for coffee drinkers who live in the area,” she said.
It’s innovation in the industry is another of NEAT’s main goals. Ultimately, it strives to interconnect the vibe of a café and the function of a bar in order to make a practical, redefining platform.
