Inklings News

Melanie Lust ’19
Whether playing viola or constantly reading and drawing, Melanie Lust ’19 has always had a passion for the arts. Her love for journalism launched after participating in Ursus, her middle school newspaper. Lust took the intro to journalism course at Staples and realized that journalism could become her career. After working hard during her years on Inklings, she now holds the editor in chief position. Lust loves how journalism is a broad field, and that anyone with an interest can find a niche, whether it be writing, photography, media or design. She finds comfort in the community of Inklings and appreciates how important the paper is to everyone who takes part. “Journalism really stands out to me,” Lust said, “because it’s a way to clarify things for the world.”
