With the strong sun shining on their backs, the varsity boys’ tennis team managed to pull out yet another win at home on May 7 against Ridgefield.

Not only did they win; they won with flying colors, with a score of 6-1.

In addition, Ridgefield is one of the players’ biggest rivals.

“They have a great energy and it’s always fun and motivating to play a great team,” Zack Levin ’15, varsity team captain, said.

The boys are undefeated thus far thanks to the amazing leadership on the team.

“I look up to the upperclassmen on my team,” Tyler Wright ’18, a varsity team member, said. “They have a lot of talent and experience; I want to lead the team like them one day.”

However, strong seniors are not the only thing encouraging the team.

“It’s my birthday, so I hope we can continue our winning streak,” Max Berger ’15, a varsity team member, said.

The champions also had the encouragement from their peers cheering from the sidelines.

“It’s about to get really rowdy and I’m going to support my boys in blue and white,” Max Wimer ’15, a Staples superfan, said.

The boys are in for a great season as an undefeated team with their next match away against Bridgeport Central on May 11. Be sure to cheer them on so they can win big at FCIACs and States.
