There is now truly an app for everything as Inklings proudly launched their app for mobile devices, Inklings-News, on Nov. 17. The app, created by Dylan Diamond ’17, allows Inklings’ articles to be brought to reader’s fingertips with the swipe of a thumb.

Inklings-News App enables people to view on their phone all articles posted to the web and view the associated pictures or graphics in high resolution. It is available in the app store free of charge by searching Inklings-News and then downloading the application associated with creator Mica Diamond.

“The Inklings app is a great new way to read the online paper on the go right from your iPhone,” Diamond said. “The new app comes with many great features that enhance the viewing experience of the paper.”

One of the many unique features on that app is that users can post articles right from the app directly to social media outlets, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as share them with friends through text, email and Airdrop.  In addition, people can also favorite and then save articles for viewing later. The articles are saved to the mobile device and can be accessed at any point, even without  Internet connection. Viewers can now read Inklings at anytime, anywhere!

The app is always up-to-date due to the automatic background refresh, and with breaking news notifications and other instant alerts, readers can stay in the know about  the news around Staples and in the Westport community.

The app is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, however requires iOS 7.0 and is optimized for the iPhone 5. Download Inklings-News by Mica Diamond from the app store today in order to stay up to date on the latest news!

About the Contributor
Andrea Frost
Andrea Frost, Breaking News Managing Editor
Andrea Frost ’15 is not only a great writer but a very committed dancer at Westport Company. She takes classes in just about every style of dance including ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and point. Though her favorite style of dance to perform is jazz. “It’s the most energetic and you get to be sassy, where with ballet you have many more restrictions,” Frost said. Being the dedicated dancer that she is, she is at the studio ten hours a week (not including her weekend morning classes) honing her skills. Though she doubts that she will bring her talent to a professional stage, she is passionate and hopes to keep dance a part of her life in anyway possible. Balancing dance and Inklings may be difficult, but Frost proves it possible since she is the Breaking News Managing Editor. Which can be attributed to never growing out of  always asking why. However, curiosity wasn’t what first drew Frost into advanced journalism. She said that it is the community that really is the benefit of the paper, going on to further add that it is similar to the company dancers at Westport Company. Possible due to the  close knit fabric of the paper and the friendly yet competitive atmosphere. Whether she is dancing in the Nutcracker or writing her latest piece for Inklings, Frost is passionate and feeds that passion into her writing.
