Juniors Dani McGovern, Alanna Morton, and Daniela Ehrenwald are kick-starting a new trend: the romper. The first Tuesday of every month has now been dubbed “Romper Tuesday” by McGovern, Morton, and Ehrenwald, and everyone is invited to join in on the fun.
On Romper Tuesday, “whoever wants to wear rompers can wear them,” said Ehrenwald.
The romper, also known as a “jumpsuit,” first appeared in children’s playwear. However, in the 1950’s, women also started wearing it for casual and swimwear.
Recently, rompers have made a comeback, appearing on the Spring 2010 runways of major designers like Chloé and Valentino.
The girls like wearing rompers because they “feel like pajamas,” according to Ehrenwald.
In the future, they hope that more people will join in on the romper-mania.
