On a scorching hot summer day, ice cream is certainly a great treat to cool yourself off and help to enjoy the sun. However, how do you know which flavor to choose?

Some students at Staples are fans of both fruity and colorful flavors.

“When it’s hot out, the only flavor I like is lemon because it’s refreshing,” Kenji Goto ’16 said.

Likewise with Goto, Ben Hamer ’16 is also a fan of a fruity flavor treat.

“I like blueberry ice cream because it looks cool and tastes amazing,” Hamer ’16 said.

Harry Garber ’16 is also a die-hard fruit-flavored ice cream lover. “Cotton Candy is the best because it tastes the best,” Garber ’16 said.

However, there is also a mix of students that prefer simpler flavors such as chocolate and vanilla. Inevitably creating the debate over which flavor is better, vanilla or chocolate?

“Vanilla is a classic. It also tastes the best when it’s hot out,” Andrew Ingber ’16 said.

However chocolate fanatics like Mackenzie Wood ’16 are going to disagree with that.

“You can never go wrong with chocolate ice cream. It’s the best,” Wood ’16 said.

Daisy Laska ’16 agrees that chocolate is the best ice cream flavor. “I love chocolate ice cream, it’s so much better than vanilla. Vanilla has no taste,” Laska ’16 said.

Whether you are a fan of the more exotic and colorful ice cream flavors, or just love a classic vanilla or chocolate ice cream. Everyone can agree that the best thing on a hot summer day, is ice cream.
