Community fundraises for preschool with interactive event for families

The temperatures were low, the sky was gray and snow was pelting in people’s faces from a horizontal angle. However, these conditions did not detract many community members from participating in the tenth annual Touch-A-Truck fundraiser in the parking lot of Coleytown Elementary School on March 28. This event is dedicated to raising money for the Westport-Weston Cooperative Nursery School and went about this mission in way so that the whole family could enjoy.

From a cop car to a lawn care truck with a crane to a “Fun Bus,” kids were able to not only touch, but learn more about the nature of the different vehicles. There were also various other businesses with booths, like a karate school and lots of different lunch options. Families left the event cold and covered in snow, but also fascinated by all the different information they learned.
