Lights shine through 2020’s darkness: Hanukkah traditions continue in face of pandemic

Hanukkah+looked+very+different+this+year+amidst+the+Covid-19+pandemic.+Normally%2C+Jewish+families+gather+to+celebrate+with+a+meal+and+the+exchange+of+gifts.+In+order+to+comply+with+safety+guidelines%2C+many+families+didn%E2%80%99t+celebrate+in+the+traditional+fashion%2C+but+instead+stayed+at+home+with+immediate+family+members.

Hanukkah looked very different this year amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Normally, Jewish families gather to celebrate with a meal and the exchange of gifts. In order to comply with safety guidelines, many families didn’t celebrate in the traditional fashion, but instead stayed at home with immediate family members.
