12:02 p.m. Today is the last day for juniors to purchase their prom tickets. Tickets are $60 each. In order to purchase a ticket, each person needs a signed contract.

1:30 p.m. A bulletin board outside the cafeteria was decorated with posters and pictures in a unique display of affection for the school janitors. Janitor Appreciation Day is a new holiday at Staples, but hopefully it will continue.

11:15 a.m. A cafeteria table remains covered with trash at the end of third lunch. Staples students are reminded daily to clean up their tables before exiting the cafeteria, yet each day tables are littered with remains at the end of the lunch waves. Remember: Clean up your trash and recycle all cans/bottles!

1:30 p.m. On a crisp but cloudless day, work continues on the new Post Road Garden Center. The building is scheduled to finish construction on May 13. There is talk that a retail store will occupy the finished building.

1:45 p.m. Teens from all over Westport and Fairfield County gathered today to walk 3.1 miles in an effort to raise money for hunger around the world. Before the walk, musician PJ Anderson preformed as everyone arrived.

1:10 p.m. Flyers advertising the 12th annual 1 Act Play Festival littered the hallway this week. The event will be held in the Black Box Theater on Saturday, April 28th at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 29 at 5 p.m.

12:30 pm. Juniors from all over Fairfield county traveled to Darien High School at 8:00 am to take the ACT test. Following the test students stood outside awaiting the true start to their spring break.
