Season’s First Snowfall Brings No Delay

The wind howled and so did students when they learned school was on Dec. 9.

School opened as usual Wednesday, Dec. 9, with some delayed bus arrivals but no delayed school for Westport students.

According to the National Weather Service, one inch fell over night along the coastal parts of town, a little more fell in inland areas, but it all turned to slush as heavy rains and wind moved in behind the wintry mix.

Westport’s proximity to the Sound and snow clearing efforts foiled students wishes to have a delayed opening and catch some extra sleep.
